Clean Install

When you uninstall TurboCAD there may be a couple of folders and registry entries left behind.  If you want to cleanly reinstall (or completely purge) TurboCAD there are a couple of things that you will need to do.

     1)       Using the Add or Remove programs control panel.  Remove TurboCAD from your hard drive.

     2)       Delete the following folders.  I am using the folder paths of Pro v12 for this example.  Be sure to change the location of your drawings before you delete the third and/or fourth folder.

C:\Program Files\IMSI\TCWP12

C:\Documents and Settings\ your user name\Application Data\IMSI\TurboCAD\12\Professional

C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\My Documents\TurboCAD 12

C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\My Documents\Documents

     3)       Clean your registry.  I cannot advise you as to which entries you will need to delete (there may be a couple hundred) or to which cleaning utility you should use.  If you use the registry editor incorrectly or delete the wrong entries you may have to reinstall your operating system so proceed with extreme caution.

     4)       De-fragment your hard drive.  Run Disk Defragmenter it is in your system tools folder.  This may take a long time depending on when the last time you de-fraged your hard drive.

     5)       Restart your computer.

You may now reinstall TurboCAD.

I would recommend NOT deleting this folder. Deleting this far up the line will also delete any LightWorks data files (Propin.dat, etc) that may contain unused custom Materials, Luminances or Environments.

The only folder that may cause problem is the Profiles folder. However, the contents of this folder will be wiped out after a reinstall. The first time TC is started after a reinstall, all sub-folders in the Profiles folder are deleted and the Built-in folder is created (re-created?). In my opinion, it’s best to leave the files in “Application Data” alone.

If you still want to delete “everything”, then save these three files:
Luminance.dat from the Luminance folder
Propin.dat from the Materials folder
Sceneenv.dat from the RenderSceneEnv folder

There is another folder that you will want to delete if you want to get rid of evrything.

C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\My Documents\Data

I started having problems with my designer V12 when I mistakenly downloaded the 12.2 update for the Pro V12.
I uninstalled all IMSI items in my computer, files and folders and defragged, rebooted to an ealrier restore point before I began to have problems and all OK
