TurboCAD(tm) for Windows Application has stopped working (Windows Vista)

We have received reports that TurboCAD is not working on some machines running Windows Vista.

Until we can come up with a better fix you will need to turn off DEP protection for your entire machine for TurboCAD to launch.

Block Refrence Point Bug

In TurboCAD v14 if you edit the reference point of a block to be anything other than its center the block will not insert itself into a wall correctly.

While we are working on getting rid of this annoying bug, there is a workaround. Instead of editing the reference point of the block you can create a point that is equal in distance to the blocks length, away from the rest of the block.

You can then change the color of the point to white and the block should cut out of the wall correctly.

There is also a problem with rotating the blocks after they have been dropped into a wall, so you may have to create an upside down version of some of your blocks.

The Four Flavors of Professional Fourteen

TurboCAD professional 14 is here and is being released in four different editions.

Basic Edition

The basic edition will include all of the 2D and 3D tools TurboCAD Professional has had in the past as well as improvements to the photo realistic rendering engine, interoperability with other programs, solid modeling engine and the selection info pallet. We have also added a terrain tool, branched loft, face to face loft, parametric stairs as well as a door and window schedule.

Mechanical Edition

The mechanical edition will include all the features of the basic edition and the mechanical pack for v 12 as well as additions and improvements to the bend and hole tools.

Architectural Edition

The architectural edition will include all the features of the basic edition and the architectural pack for v12 as well as additional stair types and a rail tool.

Platinum Edition

The platinum edition will include the contents of both the architectural and mechanical editions.
